Centre Hall, Pennsylvania - July 4 - 10, 2008
The Centre County Grange Fairgrounds at Centre Hall in Central Pennsylvania, a few miles from State College, the home of Penn State University is the site of FCRV’s 48th annual Campvention July 4 – 10, 2008.
There is much to see in Central Pennsylvania including the Boalsburg Military Museum, Raystown Lake, Johnstown Flood Museum, Altoona’s Horseshoe Curve, Penn’s Cave, Lincoln Caverns, Victorian Bellefonte, PA Wineries, Amish markets, and much more. Camping at Centre Hall is level with electric and water available. There are numerous buildings, including several new ones in the center for activities. There are also new restrooms and pay showers.
Some great entertainment is planned to fit the theme of "Hollywood In The Hills." A Hollywood sign, like the real one in California will be placed on the hillside and will be visible from the grandstand at the large covered stage. The decorating contest will be "Bring an Oscar to Pennsylvania" and the parade theme is "Movie Memories."
All of the usual Campvention activities will take place with the help of volunteers from the Northeast Region #5 including Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland & D.C., Mass./Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York, Northern New England and Pennsylvania. The Campvention chairmen are Harold and Olga Brookhart of Millerstown, PA assisted by Al and Cynthia Worthington, PA State Directors.
