Did you enjoy Spring Break in sunny Florida as a college student….many years ago? If you did, you might remember, or, maybe you don’t want to remember, what you did. If you didn’t enjoy sunny Florida at that time of your life, the FCRV Retiree Rally, March 20-25 at the North Florida Fairgrounds, Tallahassee will provide that experience at this time of your life. And, those who did enjoy Florida decades ago on Spring Break, you’ll enjoy it again from a new perspective!
‘Spring Break’ is the theme of the 47th FCRV International Retiree Rally, chaired by David & Linda Hennie. Even though the rally doesn’t officially begin till Tuesday March 20th, arrive early (March 16th – 19th) to extend your Florida experience. Early days will be $25 a day. The rally fee is $225 for two people in a unit, $195 for a single person in a unit, Camp Pass (2 people or second couple in a unit) $125, or Camp Pass (1 person or extra person in a unit) $85. These rally fees include 5 nights of camping (water & electric), ice cream social, 2 evening meals, entertainment and all the activities connected with the rally. (The registration form is in this issue of Camping Today.)
The North Florida Fairgrounds is located at 441 Paul Russell Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32301. The fairgrounds is a 100-acre complex which includes 300+ water & electric sites. There will be restroom/shower facilities.
Tallahassee is the state capital of Florida and is an ‘All American City’ where you’ll be surrounded by many attractions including canopy roads, scenic routes, the St. Marks River, the St. Marks Wildlife Preserve, the Tallahassee Museum of History & Natural Sciences, the Museum of Florida History, the Maclay Gardens, Wakulla Springs, Florida Caverns, St. Marks Bike Trail, and the Ocklockonee River Dam. Beautiful beaches on the Gulf of Mexico are only an hour away. In the next few months, we’ll share more info on these attractions as well as others.
If you enjoyed the carnival in Canton last year at the rally, you can look forward to the beach party in Tallahassee. Be sure to wear & share your thongs! Clarification – flip flops! There will be a bikini contest……for dogs. A wet t-shirt contest…..for guys! And many other fun activities.
